| The origin
of the Enneagram as we know it today started with Oscar Ichazo who passed
along its essence to Claudio Naranjo. Claudio Naranjo subsequently explained
it to the world in its essential form that we understand it today. Early
decendants of the teachings of Claudio Naranjo were Helen Palmer and Don
Riso. Helen Palmer went on to teach the Enneagram in the Oral Tradition
and Don Riso went on to teach it in a transformational tradition. Their
students and the students of their students, among them Judith Searle,
Carolyn Bartlett, Tom Condon, Clarence Thomson, Mary Bast, Andrea Isaacs,
Jerome Wagner, Richard Rohr, Janet Levine, David Daniels, Michael Goldberg,
Suzanne Zuercher, Ginger Lapid-Bogda and others have gone on to push the
understanding and application of the Enneagram to new levels and in new
areas. You can now find the Enneagram in business, therapy, the movies,
literature, graphology, spirituality, addiction recovery, education, medicine,
etc. New areas are being explored every day by forward thinking practitioners
that see the Enneagram as more than personality typing or the more glib
application, "finding a mate". Click on the Enneagram Consortium for more
information about this personal change model.
